The quiet east coast: small fishing villages such as Poris de Abona and Abades, dry hills and hardly any tourism.
Arico and Fasnia stretch from the mountains down to a sparsely built coast. Poris de Abona and the villages around Abades have small beaches and fish restaurants and are visited mainly by islanders. Up the hill, the old villages have kept their traditional stone houses and terraces.
The TF-1 runs the length of the area, which means you can reach both Santa Cruz and the southern airport fairly quickly. It is one of the last parts of the coast where you can still find space.
