Candelaria is home to the basilica of the patron saint of the Canary Islands, and every August pilgrims walk here from all over the island. For the rest of the year it is a pleasant seaside town with a promenade and a good choice of apartments, close to Santa Cruz.
Las Caletillas and Punta Larga are the residential coastal districts. Arafo, up the slope, is a small town known for its wine and its musical tradition, with a far more rural feel.
